Perfect Use of Fullbacks

Beginner Tip 03

This tip tells you how to achieve an offensive predominance with both your fullbacks. (1) Begin with passing as a goalkeeper or center back – provided you are playing with a back four – to the left or right fullback.
Sprint forward with the fullback in possession of the ball parallel to the sideline until the opponent tries a hold-up play. (2) Now pass to the free midfield teammate and keep the ball within your line. Watch the fullback. (3) Pass outside to the fullback sprinting along the sideline and towards the endline in the opponent’s half. (4) The fullback gets the ball to the opponent’s penalty area or uses a low or middle cross to shoot the ball into it. This leads to an offensive predominance and higher chances for scoring goals.
